Welcome to our Senior Adult Page...
| A ministry for the 50+ Crowd! Some of us are retired! Some of us are thinking of retirement! Some of us have grandchildren! Some of us still have children at home! Some of us are very active! Some of us are a little more sedate! But all of us are… “Older Adults Still In Service!” |
OASIS is our Senior Adult Ministry for those 50 years young and
above! We meet each month for a time of fun, food and fellowship.
Our regular monthly meetings begin at 11:30am the first Thursday
of each month in the fellowship hall of the church. Lunches
alternate month to month between bring-your-own brown-bag
lunch, to a good old-fashion pot-luck! Each month’s regular
gathering brings a variety of programs, guest speakers and
sometimes just fun and games… but always a great time for all!

OASIS is about service, too! Sometimes it’s stuffing hundred’s of letters to high school
parents telling them about Baccalaureate. Sometimes it’s baking cookies for a night of
caroling with the youth. Sometimes it’s using our giftedness of hospitality for a community
service. Sometimes it’s volunteering at a hospital. Sometimes it’s housing guests and
students on the weekends. Sometimes it’s volunteering in the nursery. And it’s always
service for the Lord!

Part of the fun of OASIS is getting away together! As such, we
try to plan an outing, a day-trip, or an overnight adventure and
more each month. Whether it’s lunch at Curtis Orchard or
dinner at the Beef House… dinner and a play at Myers Dinner
Theater or a outing to the Chocolate Extravaganza... a trip to a
museum or a trip to an Easter Pageant… an overnighter to the
Creation Museum in Kentucky or a week long cruise to Alaska;
a big part of the fun is in being together!

a group with other adults. I have been very

interesting and informative many of the
programs, activities, field trips, outings, etc of
OASIS are. Even if you don't think you're
interested in a specific outing; enjoy the
fellowship and comaraderie!

OASIS is an opportunity for older adults
to find a place of fellowship and service
in the body of Christ at MCC. It is a
source of information and fun for all who
attend both the monthly gatherings and
the regular trips to a variety of locations
and events. OASIS is also a reminder
that everyone in the church is valuable
and vital to God's work and that we are
never too old to be His servants.

I've been going to OASIS since it began. It's
lots of fun to visit with people you don't always
see at church. We have good programs,
speakers, games, birthday parties and we go
on trips. We have lots of good food when we
have potlucks. Come join the fun and
fellowship.
